TKCBE provides a wide range of member benefits, designed to maintain our members’ safety, increase their education, provide valuable training and ultimately, enhance their performance.

We are continually seeking new information and techniques that will enable our members to improve their day-to-day operations and facilitate their growth.

 

Plan Room – Use our Plan Room to bid on hundreds of projects in Central California. Over the years, thousands of projects have been bid on––and won––by our members. PLAN ROOM GUIDELINES.

 

Educational Seminars - Subjects include: Liens, Prevailing Wages, Safety Programs and many other topics pertinent to the construction industry.  Whenever possible, we feature guest speakers and workshops.

 

Workers Compensation Group Insurance - The Exchange offers an all-trade group worker's compensation program through State Fund Groups 44 Chapters 38 and 250.

 

Bid Processing - TKCBE is the only plan room in the State that offers this service, which has been in operation since 1956.  It promotes competition and fair bidding practices.  Ultimately, it adds quality and reduces costs.

 

Emerging Technologies – You can bring our plan room to your home PC.  Plans and Specifications are available for your perusal and/or purchase through our jobs online.

 

Safety Program - Addresses the safety compliance needs of our members.

 

Group Health Insurance – Health insurance is on everyone’s mind these days and TKCBE members can take advantage of our group buying power to select from a number of competitively-priced health plans. In addition to excellent rates, members have a wide range of coverage options and the flexibility to mix and match their choice of plans and carriers. Annual Buyer's Guide – The guide is divided into two sections–– 1. An alphabetical membership directory giving addresses and telephone numbers. 2. A specialty listing, classifying the materials, services, and equipment provided by our members for building projects. This information is also available on our online membership database. 

 

Office Service – Our office services include fax service, photocopy services, industry business forms, prevailing wage postings, blueprint copying, Internet Access, and more.

 

Scholarships –Scholarships are offered for our members, their family, employees and their families to educate and motivate youths in the construction industry.

 

RS Means - TKCBE is a retail outlet for the Means books, the most widely-used cost data publication in the United States and Canada. Members are able to purchase these books at up to 25% off retail. 

 

Support Legislation and Civic Action – We constantly strive for the betterment of the communities and the construction industry.  To further this, we are a member of the California Builders Exchanges (C.B.E.)  The lobbying firm of Norwood & Pedrotti represents our needs in Sacramento.

 

Member Referrals - During the course of any given week, we field a number of calls from companies outside the organization who are looking for various construction services.  All of our referrals are directed to our members. 

 

Social Affairs - The Exchange features three social events each year––a Hawaiian Luau, a Golf Tournament, and a Ladies Night Dinner Dance.

 

Weekly “Construction News” - TKCBE members receive the weekly newsletter “Construction News” featuring: Projects Out for Bid, Contracts Awarded and Under Advisement, Industry Related News and Updates, Advertisements, Tailgate Meeting Topic, Announcements, Kalb’s Q & A for Contractors, and many more.
